My (Kinda) Short Story
I find us FASCINATING.
Humans are made up of 30 Trillion cells. 30 Trillion. I find that fact so mind boggling that it makes my brain hurt. So I decided to study us. What we are made of (biochemical elements), what makes us work (anatomy and physiology), and why we get aches and pains (myology and pathology). Twenty years later I am still learning and practicing my craft of bodywork with the ultimate goal of educating clients and empowering them to feel awesome.
You will often hear me state how lucky I am. My career in massage allowed me to travel and live across the country, work for some of the most amazing places, and meet the most incredible people (yes, I have a long list of celebrity clients to brag about). What I love most about what I do is that although we are all built the same, we are all so uniquely different. Everyday presents unique challenges that both my clients and I have the opportunity to learn from. In my 20 plus years in the wellness industry I have learned and picked up more tips and tricks than one could ever use in their lifetime. I have mastered the innate ability to listen to the body, hear what it says, and interpret it for the greatest use possible. I have worked on over 15,000 different clients and the reaction of 99% of them is, “That was life changing” (best compliment in the world by the way and it never gets old).
Part of what makes me unique is my big brain. No, really. I was born with a neurological condition called a Chiari Malformation which actually led me down a deep rabbit hole of discovering myself. Yes, I live with chronic pain but that is what allows me to understand my clients the most. Lucky I have some wonderful bodyworkers, acupuncturists, and physiologists in my life that helped me on my journey. And thats what I want for you. I want to you to understand your body and why it is yelling at you, because once you start listening you can start healing. Now lets get to work.
